Sharing your vision and goals will enable you to tap into some very fundamental principles...and studies suggest that goal success rate improves dramatically by doing so.

Having stimulated yourself beyond thinking of a legacy towards an actionable effort, you have taken an amazing step. Great job!

Problem is...many people stop there.

What will others think of my goals? Maybe I'm better off to keep them hidden...until I succeed.

Again, your unconscious mind (if untrained) will typically revert to it's survival instincts. Fight or flight...and usually, it's flight.

Take the initiative & command of your legacy by putting it out there for others to see. Not only will your self-confidence soar by taking this step, you'll also gain critical feedback. Hear it out for what it is. Listen for the positive gems of insight & filter out the negativity that will also be there.

For sure, you also want to take this step to ensure you have alignment & support of your grandchildren's parents! Do they value & agree with your legacy concept?

Hopefully, they do & you'll be encouraged with their full support. However, for many, you'll find yourself in the difficult position of misaligned values. In this case, don't give up on your legacy dreams. However, keep in mind that your kids or kid-in-law....whoever is not "getting" your plans...IS (more often than not) your grandchild's primary caregiver.

Doesn't it make sense to make your best efforts to earn the support of this key influencer in your grandhild's life? Take your time and work at it. Challenge yourself to hear out their concerns fully. To influence anyone in life (as all great sales people know)...you must first understand that person.

Earning the support of your grandchild's parents may be for you a key step on the way towards building your legacy. View their resistance not as an obstacle, or excuse for why your legacy efforts are stalled. Earning support is part of the path itself!

The same all goes for gaining the support of your spouse. Certainly, how you spend your time will have an impact on theirs as well. A grandparent couple working together on legacy creation will be empowered by many incredible synergies as with any of life's great challenges...when the full force of a team is involved.

Lastly, by sharing your goals about legacy creation...you have the chance to light the spark of many other souls. Won't it feel great if someone else picks up on your energy, and begins down the path of their own legacy as a result?!

What if it then multiplies to others from them?
